How to Set Up a Custom Sender Domain

By default, AstaBill sends invoice and quote emails from an @astabill.com address. With a custom sender domain, your emails arrive from your own business domain (e.g. billing@yourbusiness.com), which looks more professional and improves deliverability.

Steps

1. Go to Settings → Sender domain.
2. Click Add Sender Domain.
3. Enter the domain you want to send from (e.g. yourbusiness.com).
4. AstaBill will display a set of DNS records (SPF, DKIM, and DMARC entries).
5. Log in to your domain registrar (e.g. GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare) and add those DNS records.
6. Return to AstaBill and click Verify. Verification is usually instant once DNS has propagated.
7. Once verified, select the sender address you want to use and click Save.

DNS changes can take up to 24–48 hours to propagate globally, though most registrars update within minutes. If verification fails, double-check that you copied each record exactly as shown.

Use an address like billing@ or invoices@ rather than info@. It keeps your invoice emails separate in both your inbox and your customer's, making them easier to find.
