International billing

Invoice international clients from Ghana — in their currency

Bill your US, UK, EU, or regional clients in USD, EUR, GBP, and 20+ other currencies. The exchange rate locks when you create the invoice, your client pays from a link, and the money settles in Ghana cedis to your own account.

Foreign-currency billing without the spreadsheet gymnastics

Most Ghanaian freelancers and agencies working with foreign clients quote in dollars, invoice in a Word document, and pray the rate holds until the wire arrives. AstaBill replaces that with one flow: the currency is on the invoice, the rate is locked and recorded, and the settlement lands in cedis.

Issue the invoice in your client’s currency

Quote in USD, bill in USD. AstaBill supports USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, AED, INR, CHF, and major African currencies like NGN, KES, and ZAR — more than 20 in total. Your client sees a professional invoice in the currency you agreed, not a cedi figure they have to decode.

The exchange rate locks when you create the invoice

The rate and its source are stored on the invoice the moment it is created. If the cedi moves between sending and payment, the amount you quoted is the amount that converts — no surprise gap between what the client approved and what lands.

Your client pays from a link — you settle in cedis

The public invoice page shows the amount in their currency with the GHS conversion at the locked rate. They pay by card, the charge is processed in GHS, and the money settles to your own Ghanaian bank or Mobile Money account.

Wire transfers still fit the workflow

If a corporate client insists on paying by bank wire instead, record the payment against the invoice manually. The invoice is marked paid, the receipt goes out automatically, and your reports stay accurate either way.

How invoicing an international client works

1

Create the invoice in their currency

Pick USD, EUR, GBP, or any of 20+ currencies when you create the invoice. The exchange rate is locked and recorded at that moment.

2

Send the payment link

Share the public invoice link by email or WhatsApp. Your client sees the invoice in their currency — no account or app needed.

3

Client pays by card

Checkout shows the locked rate and the converted amount before they confirm. The charge is processed in GHS through Paystack.

4

You settle in Ghana cedis

The payment lands in your own bank or Mobile Money account in GHS, the invoice is marked paid, and the receipt is sent automatically.

Supported currencies

Invoice in Ghana cedis or any of these currencies. Whichever you choose, you always settle in GHS to your own account.

Frequently asked questions

How do I invoice a client in the US or UK from Ghana?+

Create the invoice in AstaBill and choose USD or GBP as the invoice currency. The exchange rate to cedis is locked at that moment, and you send your client a public payment link. They see the invoice in their currency, pay by card, and you receive Ghana cedis in your own account.

What exchange rate does AstaBill use?+

The rate is fetched and locked when you create the invoice, and both the rate and its source are stored on the invoice. Your client sees the exact rate and the converted GHS amount on the payment page before confirming, so there is no ambiguity about what was charged.

Does my client need a Ghanaian payment method?+

No. Your client pays by Visa or Mastercard from the public invoice link. The checkout is processed in GHS at the locked rate, and their bank handles the conversion from their home currency as with any international card payment.

Do I receive the money in USD or in cedis?+

In Ghana cedis. The converted GHS amount settles to the bank or Mobile Money account connected to your Paystack account. The invoice keeps a record of both the foreign-currency amount your client approved and the GHS amount you received.

What if my client pays by bank wire instead of the link?+

Record the payment manually against the invoice — bank transfer is one of the built-in manual payment methods. The invoice is marked paid and the receipt is emailed to your client automatically, the same as an online payment.

Is multi-currency invoicing available on the free plan?+

Yes. Invoice currency selection is available on every plan, including Free. Any payment processing fee is always shown on the payment page before your client confirms.
